Someone asked, what is 514? Well, it was late when I sent that e-mail, and actually I was referring to UDP 514 (syslog), which makes no sense because we are talking about "hacking TCP." Duhhh. Anyway, to clarify, on Gauntlet 4.1 (and I think 4.2 and 5.0), default local packet filter rules (to the firewall itself) are automatically created for TCP 6000 and 111, and UDP 514 on the outside interface. I mentioned that so any of you who wish to see what I found can. Sorry for the brain lapse... S
