In some cases a modern dslam will do routing as well. ATM was close to
death before DSL came along, please don't CPR it anymore. Let it R.I.P. Growth of POS != Death of ATM While major hardware vendors continue to crank out hardware and software support, and while large deployments continue, it might not be fair to assume it resting in peace or pieces..
