Brooks' Law (in its various forms) applies to software houses, not open source projects. Since open source (rarely|never) commits to a schedule/deadline, GNU projects accomplish what Microsoft et.al. will never be able to as their products bloat. (for case study consider RH Linux 4.0 in 1996) IMHO, Andrew
