Not to mention, cooling the radiator won't help at all, considering it's
the water pump that failed.

The radiator yes. Just try not to get the engine block too wet.
Rapid cooling of a hot engine can cause the metalwork to fatigue
quickly, at worst, or warp it at best. :( I know someone who managed to
crack a piston shaft this way once on a regular engine.
