patent-pending technology? oh brother.

Actually, that would be the part of it that lets users get to these new
domains even if their ISP does not cooperate.  Read the release again
carefully.  hint:  browser plugin.

It doesn't matter what they use, there is almost 2 decades of prior art:
cat /etc/resolv.conf to see an example.

But I bet the USPTO issues the patent anyway.
