About three years ago we renumbered all of the state Universities in
Michigan (except Michigan State U).  It was a lot of work and I wouldn't
want to do it very often, but the whole business went much better than
I expected.  The key is good planning.  Another key is getting people
to use domain names rather than IP addresses whenever possible.  We
had signs up saying "Names good, numbers bad!".
