Meterpreter Scripting

Hello,

I've recently started working on writing my own Meterpreter scripts
and am really spending too much time just trying to figure out what
the API offers.

Is there any documentation on the API available? could not find
anything on the community portal.

If no documentation exists, is there any workaround to make a pain a
little less? :)
