Yes, it can create diagrams showing how much time certain calls took, etc. See: http://www.igvita.com/2009/06/13/profiling-ruby-with-googles-perftools/

Hi,

Yes, it's a profiler. It basically monitors and reports the performance of the framework. End-users shouldn't need it though, so you're not missing out on anything since you deleted it.

Hello All,

Is there supposed to be a file in the msf3 directory called "profile.sh" which contains the following?

#!/bin/sh
CPUPROFILE_FREQUENCY=500 CPUPROFILE=profile.dat RUBYOPT="-r`gem which perftools | tail -1` ruby msfcli z pprof.rb --gif profile.dat > profile.gif

Before I delete it I need to know if it's supposed to be there.

Thanks.
