I never cease to wonder how the simple solutions generally work ;-)

Many thanks!

Try this and see if that works:

rm -f ~/.msf3/modcache

Maybe there is a problem in your module cache.

Yeh that didn't help.
When I went into the exploits dir and did
ls -R | grep .rb$ | wc -l
the result I get is 551 exploits which is how many should be there.
the problem is msfconsole dosn't count correctly and even when I do svn update, download new stuff the number of
exploits dosn't change. I even tried switching to the macports version of ruby. Didn't affect anything.

It's possible there was a network error. I ran into this a bit
yesterday with various files not being updated even though subversion
claimed to have finished without error. Try updating again and see if
that fixes it.

Hello list
I'm running msf3.3 on Mac OS X Snow Leopard
I downloaded the tarball and ran svn update and when I launch ./msfconsole I get:

      =[ metasploit v3.4.1-dev [core:3.4 api:1.0]
+ -- --=[ 190 exploits - 36 auxiliary
+ -- --=[ 106 payloads - 17 encoders - 5 nops
      =[ svn r9325 updated today (2010.05.19)

msf >

Why is it showing 190 exploits when I hear that ms is up to 500+ exploits?
