I suspect (without having done any investigation whatsoever) that this is just a philosophical thing. If you're going to install from ports, you should upgrade the port via the normal methods for upgrading ports. Installing a port and then manually modifying the files (or via msfupdate etc.) is nasty :) If you want to use msfupdate, why bother installing from ports in the first place? -- Michael Wood <michael.wood at uct.ac.za>
