Seminar focused on securing Microsoft Exchange

Trend Micro, NetIQ, Check Point and Compaq Sponsor Microsoft Exchange
Security Seminar Tour; Six-City Tour Focuses on Securing Microsoft Exchange
Environments

CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 6, 2000--One of the leading
enterprise antivirus solution providers, Trend Micro (Nasdaq:TMIC), today
announced that it will join fellow market-leading IT vendors NetIQ
Corporation (Nasdaq:NTIQ), Check Point Software (Nasdaq:CHKP) and Compaq
Computer Corporation (NYSE:CPQ) to sponsor a six-city seminar tour on how
to increase the security for Microsoft Exchange environments this fall.
"Mastering the Art of Exchange Security" will present hard-hitting facts
and valuable techniques for securing Exchange environments. The free
educational seminar tour is designed to inform business decision makers
about key industry trends and to provide practical examples of how they can
proactively monitor and secure network activity in a Microsoft Exchange
environment.

The half-day sessions are designed for IT professionals, including IT
directors, exchange administrators, network administrators and security
administrators. The seminars will address the most important security
issues end-users face when planning, deploying and operating Exchange,
highlighting the benefits of integrated, best-of-breed solutions.
Presentations will provide in-depth, focused information on how to:

-- Reduce Exchange infrastructure security exposures

-- Undermine the threat of Trojan Horses

-- Thwart Denial of Service Attacks

-- Eliminate SPAM and objectionable content

-- Create a secure transition from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000

NetIQ's AppManager can be used to manage Microsoft Exchange, Trend Micro's
ScanMail(R) for Exchange, and Check Point's FireWall-1 and VPN-1 for
integrated best-of-breed enterprise email security. Through Compaq Global
Services, medium to large-sized businesses can obtain a high availability
service contract that will ensure maximum availability for their Exchange
environment and guarantee uptime for their mission critical servers.

"No one security vendor can provide best-of-breed security and management
tools for the enterprise and clearly securing the Exchange environment is
mission critical given the recent proliferation of e-mail propagated
viruses," said Allan Thompson, senior vice president, Global Alliances for
Trend Micro.

"That's why we've partnered with the leading Internet-Security, Management
and Server Technology vendors -- namely Check Point, NetIQ and Compaq -- to
provide the enterprise with a top-of-the-line security solution for
Microsoft Exchange."

"We are happy to work with our OPSEC partners to promote a comprehensive
security solution for Exchange environments," said Bradley Brown, director
of Business Development for Check Point Software. "The integration of Check
Point's market leading Secure Virtual Network (SVN) architecture with Trend
Micro, Net IQ and Compaq demonstrates a real-world deployment, where
customers reap the benefits of OPSEC integration for a centrally managed,
security solution."

"Customers need a central point to manage and monitor their Exchange
environment, as well as the security applications -- including antivirus
and firewalls -- protecting that environment," said Tom Kemp, vice
president of Products at NetIQ. "We are pleased to be working with Trend
Micro, Check Point and Compaq to bring a comprehensive security solution
for Exchange security to the marketplace."

"Reliable hardware and software alone aren't enough to ensure the high
availability requirements of mission critical groupware and collaborative
environments in today's 24x7 business environment," said Debbie Dunnam,
vice president of Sales and Marketing, Compaq North America Customer
Services. "That's why Compaq's High Availability Services emphasize
proactive measures that predict and prevent problems before they can
disrupt business -- while still providing the expertise and rapid response
needed to solve problems quickly when they do occur."

The tour will kick off September 12 at the Andy Warhol Museum in
Pittsburgh. Additional dates and venues will include the Chrysler Museum in
Norfolk on September 14, the San Jose Museum of Art on September 20, the
Dallas Museum of Art on September 21, the Chicago Museum of Contemporary
Art on October 3, and the Museum of Science in Boston on October 5.
Deadline for registration is Friday, September 8, 2000. For additional
