Forwarded by: Fred Villella <NDI () aol com> It appears to me, from a concerned citizens perspective, that observers should offer their views. Mine has been that the Alerts & Warning that is done by the NIPC is redundant. Many other more adept and involved sectors perform that service and more accurately. There is little need to replicate what is already being done by TONS of other agencies and private sector groups. How many alerts does a computer take to realize that there is a LOT of money being spent by a lot of government agencies to do the SAME thing. We all have witnessed a particular agency put out an alert after a web site was hacked and practically the next day or week, the SAME site is defaced. What is the logic here? Competent, rationale voices need to be heard... Isn't it time we started spending efforts to MAKE systems secure?? NOT just tell us HOW weak our systems are?
