http://www.computeruser.com/news/00/07/07/news5.html By: Staff, IT Daily July 07, 2000 Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (DTT) and the Information Systems Audit and Control Foundation (ISACF) have published a report entitled "E-commerce Security Enterprise Best Practices." The report is the result of worldwide survey of professionals in 46 locations, including Hong Kong, over a period of six months. The report is an effort to address the security, control and audit issues involved in e-commerce. The recent Love Bug e-mail attack and increasing malevolence of e-mail-transmitted viruses have highlighted the work of DTT and ISACF, which have now completed the second of a joint four-stage research project to evaluate online security and define best practices. It establishes a framework for business managers in setting out the principles in business-to-business (B2B) or business-to-consumer (B2C) e-commerce security and implementation within individual organizations, under any IT platform or environment. The report gives insight into protecting data, maintaining confidentiality, confirming identities, controlling system changes, detecting unauthorized intrusions and handling denial of service attacks. The practice guidelines include digital signatures, policy and governance and privacy.
