[[ ToorCon Computer Security Expo 2000 ]]

ToorCon is a comprehensive three day computer security extravaganza
featuring lectures from some of the top experts in the field, hands-on
demonstrations of the newest approaches to computer security, and a
competitive game called RootWars which tests your penetration and
defensive skills in a real-time simulation.


[Conference]

The conference consists of two days of security penetration contests,
Q&A panels, and lectures from some of the top minds in the computer
security industry. This includes speakers from Nomad Mobile Research
Centre, BindView Corporation's RAZOR Security Team, eEye Digital
Security, Attrition, Network Security Wizards, Symantec, Network ICE,
Knowledge Propulsion Laboratory, Subterrain Security Group and many
others.

The lecture lineup is as follows:

- Keynote Speaker: Simple Nomad of Nomad Mobile Research Centre and
  BindView Corporation's RAZOR Security Team on the Future of Hacking.

- When the Last Line of Defense is Broken by Attrition.
- So what if they get root? (Mandatory Access Control) by palante.
- The Impact of Passive Network Mapping in Distributed Environments by
  Subterrain Security Group.

- Battlefield IDS by Robert Graham of Network ICE.
- Update on the Hacker Scene by Attrition.
- Artificial Intelligence in Network Packet Injection by obecian.
- How to Avoid IDS by Ron Gula of Network Security Wizards.
- Privacy Intrusions as Virii by Mike Hudack of Knowledge Propulsion
  Laboratory.

- Security Issues with Net-enabled code by Ron Moritz of Symantec.
- Real World NT Hacking, eEye style.

The Q&A Panels consist of:
- Media Panel.
- Law Enforcement Panel.
- Security Panel.


[Party]

There is an optional party on the first night, which will be taking
place downtown and will be held exclusively for ToorCon and a limited
number of public attendees. The lineup consists of many of the top San
Diego DJs and will be an alcohol-free, all ages event. Info on the

Admission to ToorCon is $40 at the door. The conference will be held
on the 2nd and 3rd at the San Diego Concourse between 10am and

Companies interested in sponsoring ToorCon can be listed as a sponsor
and (optionally) have a booth at ToorCon for a small fee of $200 USD.
Sponsors are also entitled to late pre-registration for $40 for
employees, which includes preferred seating for lectures and free
ToorCon paraphernalia.


[Press]

Media reporters will be admitted free of charge for coverage of the
event as long as they notify ToorCon of their presence by August 30th.
They are also welcome to participate in the Media Q:A Panel which will
be held on September 2nd at 8:00pm.

the chairman immediately because seats are limited.
