(For IP, if you wish) I ask that those of you writing in this thread step back for a moment and consider your situation: you all enjoy wealth and privilege, and thus (at least) a modicum of choices as well as the means to pay for them. Not everyone is so fortunate. In fact, most people aren't nearly so. Most people don't have the luxury of multiple providers of high-speed (or in some cases, any) connectivity. Most people can't really afford one provider, let alone two or three. Most people don't have the time and energy and money to invest in switching carriers. Most people don't have the technical expertise to do this, or to segregate their traffic, or to use any of the other similar workarounds. They're too busy trying to keep a roof over their heads, to put food on the table, and to not go bankrupt from medical bills. You enjoy the luxuries of wealth and location and education -- and good for you. But do recognize that you are the elite few, and please don't glibly assume that what is a trivial matter for you -- a choice to be exercised on a whim -- is so for others. It's not. And don't assume that just because the demise of net neutrality will likely leave you unscathed (or nearly so) that it will do the same for others. It won't. ---rsk
