What does this tell us about Yahoo's statements that it uses end-to-end encryption? 2. This story says that Yahoo *wrote* software to accomplish this task. Why didn't they just repurpose the content-scanning software they already have in place -- the software that scans every message for malware, spam, phishing, etc.? 3. The Reuters story includes this: "When Stamos found out that Mayer had authorized the program, he resigned as chief information security officer and told his subordinates that he had been left out of a decision that hurt users' security, the sources said. Due to a programming flaw, he told them hackers could have accessed the stored emails." Is this related to last week's disclosure that at least 500 million Yahoo user accounts have been compromised? ---rsk
