Subject: Wi-Fi Risks at Conferences/Elsewhere

Dave

The Wi-Fi "problem" brings to mind another, far more serious problem, that of "evil twins" set up to collect personal information. These can be found at hotels, conferences, and other public venues.

Article at http://www.executiveroadwarrior.com/2008/06/wi-fi-alert-for-travelers/

In addition, concerning conferences and the hospitality industry in general, while Wi-Fi access in hotels is improving, albeit slowly, my experience a few years ago at Lotusphere is a good narrative of what can go wrong. See http://www.executiveroadwarrior.com/2004/01/the-internet-is-broken/
