Note the hedged language - "should not" cause a problem. What do you want to bet that it WILL cause a problem for some people?(that is, some overzealous TSA screener will NOT be sufficiently trainedin these rules.) I would suggest that anyone to whom this description applies (1) allowextra time for airport security hassles, and (2) carry a copy of the TSAweb site page on which the below text is printed. [snip]Small differences between the passenger's ID the passenger's reservation information, and the boarding pass (such as the use of a middle initial instead of a full middle name or no middle name/initial at all, hyphensor apostrophes) should not cause a problem for the passenger. You Can't Fly! This is the stuff of nightmares - not to mention enormous frustration and possible stomach ulcers. If you have an apostrophe in your name - like manyof Irish descent do - you may find it impossible to board an airplane inthecoming months. Why? Because airline computers can't print an apostropheonthe boarding pass, the name on your boarding pass will not exactly matchthename on your driver's license or passport. And beginning next year, thetwo must match or you don't fly. And they call this progress. CJB.
