Second, is there any indication that significant groupings in either party have *ever* opposed legislation that's couched as protecting children on the Internet?
The kind of data logging that is being proposed can easily become a real-time tracking system. And as we have seen of late, our corporate and governmental bodies are very poor at keeping their data systems from leaking.
Consequently one could describe this system not as one that protects children but one that could actually facilitate the stalking and taking of children because their locations could be quickly ascertained by bad people or merely by a caring parent who has lost custody.
So far it seems that the main beneficiary of this system will be Seagate, Western Digital, and others who manufacture hard disk storage.
