Dave,

I've used GoGo on a few Delta flights this year and really love the service. Though there have been claims that in flight VOIP is disallowed, I was able to have a video chat with my wife and daughter at 30k feet somewhere over the continental US on multiple occasions. I just wish they offered some kind of connectivity plan, instead of pay-as-you-go plans.

Dave

It's just sinking in that our last refuge, the aircraft, is no longer a refuge from too much connectivity.

American Airlines completed its pilot and is deploying the Aircell Gogo system to 315 domestic aircraft. Other airlines are following suit.

I'm on AA Flight No. 15 right now and it's definitely a mixed blessing. Aircell has even added smartphone support so I am able to use my BlackBerry (and BlackBerry messenger) as well as my laptop.

I am posting during the flight (we're over South Dakota right now) at www.basexblog.com/2009/04/29/the-last-frontier-in-flight-internet-access-take-2/
