Actually, from the sound of it, Comcast is implementing its "One
Click Fixes" as ActiveX applets. Unfortunately, since other browsers
cannot run ActiveX, this does mean that one must access them via
Internet Exploder. On the other hand, since the "fixes" are most
likely Windows-specific (they may even be fixes for bugs in IE),
and IE is "welded into" Windows, it's easy enough to open up IE
just for that task... and then put this unsafe software away until
it's necessary to open it again (i.e. for Windows Update, which
is likewise IE-specific).
