Great news for IP, on a recently-discussed topic:


This morning, Julie Amero was granted a new trial.

The judge admitted the testimony of the technical witness for the
prosecution had been shown to be "erroneous."  This admission is a
direct result of third-party interest in her case, particularly the
generous volunteer labor of concerned experts in the networking/
security community.

(Amero is the Connecticut substitute teacher who was facing up to 40
years of jail time after her conviction in January of four felonies,
for having been in the same room as a computer that displayed popup
ads for porn in view of students.  Googling her name will show you
