The net neutrality debate is filled with a lot of "Imagine if ..."Here's something we don't have to imagine. Cox Communications, a cable provider, is blocking Craigslist because it competes with Cox newspapers' classified ads.
Yet another Imagine if... A software bug is really an evil plot. If you do a little research you'll find it is a software bug between Craigslist method of opening a TCP/IP session (probably a flaky load balancer which sends an inital TCP packet with a window size of zero == buffer full, slow down) and Authentium's firewall software. Your assertion is false. It has nothing to do with competing with Cox newspaper's classified ads. Authentium has already issued a quickfix, a final software release is being prepared, and the firewall software
is optional which Cox customers can use or not use. Craigslist could also fix the problem on their side by updating their software. But so far has chosen not to. ********************************************************************** For Listserv Instructions, see http://www.lawlists.net/cyberia Off-Topic threads: http://www.lawlists.net/mailman/listinfo/cyberia-ot Need more help?
