-------- Original Message -------- Subject: USPTO issues a patent for warp drive Date: Wed, 16 Nov 2005 07:41:56 -0500 From: Dan Nachbar <dan () nachbar com> To: dave () farber net A friend suggested that I forward this to you for possible use on your IP list -- Further proof, if any was needed, that the Patent Office is completely out of control: #6,960,975. It's a patent for what appears to be warp-drive. The bloody abstract reads like it was lifted directly from a Star Trek script. But golly, I can't imagine why I think of using "quantized vortices of lattice ions projecting a gravitomagnetic field that forms a spacetime curvature anomaly." It's not clear if the "inventor" is crazy, pulling a hoax, or both. Unfortunately, the same must also be said for the USPTO. http://www.pat2pdf.org/patents/pat6960975.pdf Dan Nachbar ------------------------------------- You are subscribed as lists-ip () insecure org To manage your subscription, go to http://v2.listbox.com/member/?listname=ip Archives at: http://www.interesting-people.org/archives/interesting-people/
