But just one simple fact blows this selfish view out of the water:
"Cultivation of soya yields 356 pounds of protein per acre... with beef being the most wasteful at only 20 pounds of protein per acre." http://www.globalhunger.net/back.html
When all the people in India demand hamburgers for dinner they will simply run out of land. And water.
Don't get me started on the whole 'we've paid for' issue either, not always is the full cost of a transaction included in the price: nuclear power (which I support) is a glowing example of that one.

Both this and the original article are so ridiculous it's laughable, orwould be if it weren't being used by busybodies as a basis for laws prohibiting the comfortable lifestyles we've paid for and are entitled to keep. You need to read "The Ultimate Resource 2" by Julian Simon, which disproves the entire "peak oil" scenario. Then if you still disagree, I'll be glad to make the same bet with you that Simon made with Paul Ehrlich. Left wingers and their media are always telling you the sky is fallingbecause they want to exploit your fears. The worst thing about democracyis that people so ignorant that it works on them still get to vote.
