It is the consensus of a group of non-governmental specialists considering the next 15 years and is a result of the NIC's Project 2020. It describes four potential scenarios for 2020: Davos World, Pax Americana, A New Caliphate, and Cycle of Fear. The report is well-written and very thought-provoking. The latter is its purpose and the general public is welcome. It took more than a year to write and involved over a thousand people from all over the globe. Regardless of anyone's specific political bias, they should find this report very useful. It pulls together a great deal of information and opinion on a very broad topic: the future of humanity. Anyone interested can download a PDF of the 123-page report (6.7M) at our site at http://www.futurebrief.com/project2020.pdf if they like. In addition, the NIC has also created a website where individuals can create their own models of the future at http://ifsmodel.org/. I haven't had the chance to work with this yet, but it looked really fascinating. However, their site is getting hit with a lot of traffic and it can be hard to get in at the moment, so patience is necessary.
