If I might take a minute to do a bit of publicity for some terrific
conferences organized by Phil Weiser at the University of Colorado:

This Feb 13/14, a flagship conference on Rewriting the Telecom Act ill
be held.  This conference will feature Michael Powell, Vint Cerf,
Lawrence Lessig and many others (including, of course, Faulhaber and
many other giants like Hatfield, Werbach, Goodman -- a massive list of
"who's who"  in telecom).

On March 3, a new conference on Open Source and Open Standards will be
held.

These are terrific conferences, IPers are more than welcome to attend
-- it strikes at the heart of many of the topics covered in this
listserv.  Plus, Colorado is beautiful at this time of year.
