The agreements are integral to the company's plans to roll out SkypeOut, a soon-to-be-launched pre-pay service for global calling."It is very significant for the company, because it means they will be able to offer connections to PSTN companies," Jon Arnold, telecom analyst with Frost & Sullivan, tells NewsFactor. In practical terms, it means that current Skype customers will be able to call outside the Skype universe with the prepaid service, which is why it has been called SkypeOut.
