--Judge Rules KaZaA Owner May Sue Music and Movie Companies (24/25 January 2004) Sharman Networks, which owns the KaZaA peer-to-peer file sharing software, may pursue copyright infringement claims against music and movie companies. A federal judge has ruled that Sharman may proceed with the suit that alleges the companies used versions of KaZaA to find out who was downloading music from others and put corrupted files on the network. Sharman also alleges that the companies violated the software's licensing agreement by sending warnings to people on the network. http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/local/7784479.htm?template=contentModules/printstory.jsphttp://zdnet.com.com/2102-1105_2-5147037.html?tag=printthis
