I first met Rob when he was a Assist Prof at UC Irvine where I started my academic career. Rob was one of the people I always admired. He balanced Comp Sci, Social Sciences and Public Policy and had an impact. I will miss him very much. Dave ------ Forwarded Message From: "Seymour E. Rob and I (and my wife) knew each other since 1961 when we were all freshmen at Columbia. Sy Goodman On Thu, 15 May 2003, Gene Spafford wrote:
I received the following from David Wise at IU: Rob Kling, Professor of Information Systems and Information Science at the Indiana School of Library and Information Science, and Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at IU, died unexpectedly last night. Rob's SLIS friends and colleagues mourn his loss, and extend our sympathy to his wife, Professor Mitzi Lewison. Arrangements are pending and we will post more information when it is available. Rob was a long-time member of USACM, and served actively as a member of the Executive Committee for many years. He had a deep concern, personally and professionally, in the welfare of the public and the impact that technology has on quality of life. Rob will be missed.
