I am a subscriber (paying) djf ------ Forwarded Message From: Richard Forno <rforno () infowarrior org> Date: Tue, 18 Mar 2003 08:41:35 -0500 To: Dave Farber <dave () farber net> Subject: For IP if you like Dave, I know commercial endorsements aren't generally allowed on IP but I hope you'll allow this link to a letter from Salon's editors. They're one of the few *good* independent news/analysis sites still around on the net, and as many know, are hurting for money. I've been a subscriber for a year now, and find their in-depth articles very insightful, useful, and wouldn't post this note to you unless I believed in what they are doing and find value in their "products." They routinely run articles on both sides of an issue, and don't generally have a political agenda that taints their stuff like most of the other mainstream news organizations. In light of today's overly-conservative, pro-Bush media that's been consolidated into a few corporate conglomerates, their editors have a well-written letter showing why Salon's a valuable resource for independent news/analysis, and why it makes sense for people to subscribe to it. And, no, I'm not associated with Salon in any way -- I just don't want to see it disappear like so many other Dot Coms. The editor's note is at: http://www.salon.com/letters/editor/2003/03/18/war_stories/index.html Thanks, Rick Infowarrior.org ------ End of Forwarded Message ------------------------------------- You are subscribed as interesting-people () lists elistx com To manage your subscription, go to http://v2.listbox.com/member/?listname=ip Archives at: http://www.interesting-people.org/archives/interesting-people/
