There will be a unusual installment of the Verizon Distinguished Lecture
series Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. in the Heinz School Auditorium
at Carnegie Mellon University.

 

     Farber and Faulhaber on "The Regulatory Landscape for
    Telecommunications"

 

For those who can not come over, the lecture will be live broadcasted over
the internet using the End System Multicast System (ESM) developed in the
School of Computer Science, CMU. Please follow the following web page:

for the instructions on how to tune in from your desktop.

Gerald R. Faulhaber, Professor of Business and Public Policy and
Management at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania
and formerly Chief Economist at the Federal Communications Commission
(FCC), and visiting Heinz and Computer Science School Professor David
Farber, formerly Chief Technologist at the FCC, will jointly
discuss ³The Regulatory Landscape for Telecommunications:  New
Technologies and Implications for Policy². This lecture will offer
each of the two experts providing a different perspective
on current technologies and their possible impact on the future
of telecommunications regulation. Their talks will be followed by
a moderated dialogue between them, then questions and answers
with the audience.
