She works in digital forensics and has also published this article on software liability: http://www.gocsi.com/pdfs/byte.pdf Agreed, there haven't been any really significant cases where the software vendor has been held liable, but if I am reading this article correctly, the vendor *should* be liable, as they are the only entity that can correct the errors. Its just a matter of of getting a victim with deep enough pockets to afford to continue a case to the end, I *think*. -- Tom E.
