Subject: IP: Office on Linux -- with no emulator

Dave,

For IP. Codeweavers are at http://www.codeweavers.com
<http://www.codeweavers.com/> . I can't imagine that MS will sit idle while
their core product is circumnavigated like this. Be interested in other
IP-er's comments!

Cheers,
Dave

CODEWEAVERS RUNS OFFICE WITHOUT WINDOWS

Posted March 29, 2002 10:23 Pacific Time

HOPING TO BREAK down one the biggest barriers to
acceptance of Linux on the desktop, Codeweavers
unveiled software that allows corporate users to run
Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes without a Windows
operating system.

need for a Windows operating systems license as well
as a Windows emulator which, traditionally, have
tended to weigh down the speed and performance of
desktop applications.
