From what I am told, the writer is incorrect--there is no minimum threshold at
which X-rays cease causing damage.  I believe you can analogize X-rays to
tiny red
hot bullets perforating your body.  The damage is structural as well as
genetic.
"Naturally," the more bullets, the more damage.

                        I'll also add here that I'm personally curious as to

                       long-term effects of repeated exposures to a machine
that
                       uses low doses of X-rays. It may well be nothing --
if the
                       dosage is sufficiently low, it could be below the
threshold
at
                       which it causes tissue damage. But frequent flyers --
                       especially those who've yet to have children -- might
want
                       to do a little research.
