I wonder if iut will not skip commercials paid to not to be skipped djf ------ Forwarded Message From: "Geoff Mulligan" <geoff () mulligan com> Date: Mon, 18 Feb 2002 13:01:02 -0700 To: "Dave Farber" <farber () cis upenn edu> Subject: sonix blue replay tv... Dave, Did you see this little "disclaimer" on the replay tv box. I'm not sure that I like them being able to "add, modify or disable" the features on my box with out my permission. If I've bought it, I should be able to control it! This is at the bottom of their online ad: "ReplayTV 4000 requires a broadband Internet connection and a home network. A PC connected to a home network is required to store and view digital photos with ReplayTV. 320 hours of storage is only available on the ReplayTV 4320 model. If your ISP limits outbound data transfer speeds, it may take a day or more to completely send an hour of recorded material over the Internet. When in use, the Commercial AdvanceĀ feature may not skip all commercials. SONICblue reserves the right to automatically add, modify, or disable any features in the operating software when your ReplayTV 4000 connects to our server." geoff ------ End of Forwarded Message For archives see: http://www.interesting-people.org/archives/interesting-people/
