If you purchased the DVD, return for a refund. Tell the clerk its damaged, and the FF function does not work in parts. (If they or you fill out a form, write that information down). If it was rental, do the same. Especially if its from a bug chain like Blockbuster or Hollywood Entertainment. One of the reasons many of us purchased DVD machines was for the direct access -- the ability to go to any specific data point. If enough people start returning DVDs (they are a nightmare for retailers), they will demand the appropriate changes be made to the discs; The same is true for CDs. Barry L.
