I can't comment on the substantive merits of any "second-guessing" that's
occured, but I'm disturbed by the suggestion that it shouldn't be going on.
It is possible - arguably it is our duty - to demand an accounting from
our leaders at the same time that we support them.

I cannot think of a more eloquent demonstration that our democracy has
survived intact than the lively public discourse in which we, and the
media, are now engaged.  It is when this stops that we will have signaled
to our enemies that we are in trouble.
