See http://www.avweb.com for details of the regulations and their impact on general aviation. (not affiliated, it's just one of my main sources for aviation news) I once spent a week working in an environment where I was constantly on camera (research reactor out at Sandia Labs) and it was _extremely_ unpleasant and diconcerting. By the end of the week, I was immensely glad to be out of there. I can't imagine flying under such monitoring. The restrictions on Class B airspace (large metro areas, basically) are quite burdensome to the GA industry, who is not getting the same federal bailout as the airlines. There have also been some egregious abuses of the situation by people such as mayor Daley of Chicago, who used 9/11 as an excuse to close Meigs airfield, but that's probably another discussion.
