IP: bye-bye ATT

Just when the ILECS are getting into the long distance business, ATT 
decides to  essentially raise their monthly cost for their "discount" 
programs from nothing to $9.95 (well if you don't want much in  the way of 
discounts $4.95).

I and I suspect others zoomed to the Verizon  web page and  saw the 
essentially same deal for no monthly fee and maybe 2 cents more per minute.

I switched so after decades bye bye ATT

Why did they, ATT,  pick such great timing to play this game is beyond me
