If there is a way to view the message before it has been interpreted within the Outlook 2000 message window, I have yet to find it. So, I cannot peek. The multiple messages I received including the Microsoft Nimba-E Virus did not indicate they had any attachments, even though each had a misidentified executable binary contained within. So, I am not told, either.I'll reiterate my contention that lacking indication of an attachment, no foreknowledge of a message's contents and the automatic activation of what appears as an attached sound file but which is, in reality, an executable binary, Outlook 2000 is too dangerous to use.Several people have also commented that most of the Microsoft viral beastiary can be easily slain before they become a problem, through diligent software updates and sophisticated management of firewall rules. I'm sure that comes as great solace to the millions of consumers who lack the knowledge or financial resources to maintain such useful technical prophylaxis. The rest of us will have to suffer. /rr (now, happily Microsoft-free)
