[ The end of this thread, make up your own mind re Fisk as is the usual in a Democracy djf]
From: "Jack Rieley" <jrieley () boardrush com> To: "David Farber" <farber () cis upenn edu> Dave, It was unfortunate to read the via-via anonymous venom contained in "IP: More on robert Fisk." Fisk is the most highly decorated British foreign journalist, winner of an array of awards including seven-time winner of British International Journalist of the Year. It was plain nonsense for the anonymous source to claim he is not representative of much except himself. Far more scurrilous was the claim, "He also hates jews and the Israelis." Fisk has reported consistently and diligently to debunk anti-Israeli and anti-Semitic propaganda, most recently exposing lies about Israelis having stayed home on September 11th because of their alleged involvement in the plot against the U.S. It is true that Fisk's independent journalism reports things that run contrary to what Washington tell us. That, however, is the genius behind having a free press instead of simply a bunch of cheerleading lap dogs to keep us informed. Best wishes, Jack Rieley
