From: "Roger Ridey" <roger () ridey net> To: farber () cis upenn edu The Independent in London has a good interview with Ian Clarke, the man behind the Free Network Project. If you think Napster has the music industry Ian Clarke may have developed the next Napster, but one that will not be liable to attack through the law courts or subject to meddling by the US Congress, as the music-sharing service presently is.
Clarke's project is called Freenet. Music Week, the UK music industry magazine, recently called it "a new time-bomb the industry must defuse". Clarke says that what he is really developing is more like an improved version of the internet.
