Internet-Names Challenge Rejected Filed at 10:08 a.m. EST By The Associated Press WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Supreme Court today rejected a challenge to the fees charged for registering and annually renewing Internet domain names. The justices, without comment, turned away arguments that the fees are exorbitant and that a former practice of designating a portion of the fees for a federal agency's use amounted to an illegal tax. Today's action, while setting no legal precedent, is a victory for the agency, the National Science Foundation, and Network Solutions Inc., the Virginia-based company that serves as keeper of the master list of World Wide Web addresses. ...
