From its legendary beginnings to its glory days as the creator of the
personal computers, Apple has commanded headlines. Its complex and
acrimonious struggles over company power have played out in the glare
of public scrutiny. So when Gil Amelio became Apple's CEO in January
1996 and was ousted 17 months later, we knew about it. But we really
didn't know what happened inside Apple's political regime.

On April 9, Gil Amelio will tell his side of the story.

Dr. Gilbert F. Amelio, an inventor who holds 16 patents, was chairman
and chief executive officer of Apple Computer, Inc. from Feb. 1996 to
July 1997. During his 30-year career in high technology, he has managed
major corporations in the fields of semiconductors, telecommunications
and computers. He led National Semiconductor from the brink of disaster
to record-breaking profits, and he is the co-author of "Profit from
Experience" and "On the Firing Line".
