FWIW, further on this topic of overtime, you may also be aware that as of
Jan 1, 1998 California no longer requires overtime to be paid based on more
than eight hours a day, but only on more than 40 hours in a week.  (Also, I
_think_ this means a calendar week, rather than any seven days in a row.)


The generally right wing sponsors of this change say it will "save"
California businesses over one billion dollars a year, which is another way
of saying it will take away over one billion dollars a year from workers.
