Last August, SSE brought to market a product called TrustedWeb that enables telecommunications companies, banks and the military to control access to information on networked computer systems. The product is based in part on an algorithm, a mathematical formula, developed by RSA Data Security Inc., of Redwood City, Calif., and, because of that, offers advanced data-scrambling -- 128-bit encryption.
