                                                  CALL FOR PAPERS


The National University of Singapore and IEEE Singapore Section are pleased
to announce the 5th IEEE Singapore International Conference On Networks
(SICON'97) in Singapore. The conference will start with two days of
tutorials, and will continue with two days of technical presentations. As
with the previous conferences, SICON'97 will provide a forum to discuss the
recent advances in computer networks and communications, and distributed
systems. Professor David Farber from University of Pennsylvania, USA will
deliver the plenary lecture at SICON'97.


SICON'97 will be held the week following INFOCOM'97.


Contributions describing original research, surveys and applications
including but not restricted to the following areas are solicited:


high speed networks, ATM, optical networks    routing, addressing, flow and
and multimedia networking                     congestion controls
PCS,wireless networks and mobile computing    internetworking
network, traffic modeling and                 network architecture and protocols
performance analysis                          network signaling and connection
                                              management
network security and privacy                  network management
networks design, resource sharing, quality    distributed systems and network
of service and applications                   operating systems
testbeds and measurements                     object oriented design of
                                              communication software








Submission Instructions


All submissions should have a cover page containing the title, author
name(s), complete address (telephone, fax, email) for all authors,
indication of the corresponding author, and an abstract (100-150 words),
followed by keywords and one or more areas of interest from the list above.


Authors are requested to submit five copies of manuscript (in English) of no
more than 6,000 words to:

Electronic submissions (preferred) of manuscript should be in compressed
postscript and be FTPed to ftp.iscs.nus.sg and put under
/pub/tmp/sicon97/manuscript. Authors should
separately email the cover plain text page to the Technical Program chair.






Tutorial Proposals


Proposals for tutorial topics including but not restricted to these areas
are solicited: multimedia networking, mobile/wireless computing, network
management and internet. Each proposal should be about 1000 words and should
include a synopsis, tutorial outline and brief speaker's biography. Please
submit a copy of your proposal to the tutorial chairman via email at
lhn () iss nus sg before 1st August 1996.
