Galler" <galler () umich edu> Subject: IP: ONLINE PUBLISHING DILEMMA Status: Just a comment in response to someone's suggestions that the issue of whether posting online is "public disclosure" for purposes of the U.S. patent laws, and the further comment that this issue will have to "mature;" I could not disagree more. Unless the communication is a private letter to one person or a very small group of people and where there is no general posting, it is clearly a public disclosure of the type contemplated under the patent laws, and only a judge who does not understand online communications, Web sites, or conference postings, will misunderstand the issue. (My usual subtle comments). Susan
