From: djw () eff org (Daniel J. Weitzner) As promised, the full text of the recently introduced Senate bill which lifts the cable-telco ban and opens the local exchange market to competition is available via anonymous ftp on ftp.eff.org. A summary of the bill, for those who value their leisure time, is also available. Find them as follows: pub/EFF/legislation/infra-act-s1086-summary pub/EFF/legislation/infra-act-s1086 EFF is not posting this bill in order to show support for it, but because it is an important proposal, worthy of discussion and consideration. At the first hearing on the bill, there was almost no support from any side, but the Committee Chair, Inouye, and ranking minority member, Danforth, seem determined to move the bill forward.
